Hey guys, 94J30 is downshifting sporadically. Took it too a tranny shop and they said it does not to be a transmission problem, they believe it to be a sensor shorting out here or there. Anyone had this problem, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx

Thanks for the reply, but I do not understand what you are trying to say.

He's trying to say that there is the main computer ECU and a tranny computer (TCU). There are also several transmission sensors that feed data to the TCU.

The best thing may be to take it to a dealer and have them hook it up to a Nissan Consult machine to see if the TCU has any fault codes stored.

The average transmission shop can't afford to own the Nissan-specific Consult machine.

hey guys sorry for just replying now, been away from the forum for a while. The tranny shop I took the car too had the machine to test it on, but never could reproduce when it was hooked up, and they logged over 70 miles on it over 4 or 5 days.
