simple question

This is my first post here and I had a simple question. I just got a 97 gt and wanted to get an SCT chip.

Has anyone heard of

I was looking at there website and noticed they sell their SCT stuff pretty freaking cheap compared to all the others. My question is as anyone ever dealt with them and had anything to say about them.

I don't know anything specific about SCT. I know that most Performance Chips usually give you a good 5-10hp increase(Usually increasing Ignition Timing).

I have an ADS Superchip, and I definitely noticed a slight difference (maybe 5hp?) but I have to use 89 or higher Octane Gas to see that difference. I'm thinking of replacing it for one of those chip setups where you can tune the settings yourself, that way you're not limited to the stock program that comes with the chip.

I don't know that company, never even heard of it, but I still stand by my opinion. Chips won't do much unless something else has been done to the motor. The stock computer on the Mustang is really good at keeping things under control. It can take some really crazy set-ups and still keep the car stable. Hell, my Cobra has an F cam, and people still ask me if it has a cam because it idles steady at 800 rpm. It's as gentle as a pussycat. :smile:

Chips by themselves as a mod will not do much for performance. I would use the money on something else that can actually benifit you then a chip on a fairly stock car.

I went ahead and ordered from specterautomotive and I've already received my chip. Did not take long at all. I can definetly tell there is a difference. The car starts easier and pulls to 6000 rpms faster than before. I would say around 15 hp and tq. I would recommend specterautomotive to everyone in the market for a chip. The best thing was it was cheaper than everywhere I looked on the internet.

What did they do to make it start so much easier and rev so much faster now.

timing? mybe?

do the chip after the mods. The comp doesn't like parts it does not reconize. like cam and heads. most of the power probably came from timing. you can advance that buy turning the distributor.
