1999 Beetle

Do any of you know of any known issues with the electrical systems on these cars? I am experiencing everything from the speedometer going out to the odometer failing.

there was a concern with the coolant expansion tank pushing coolant into the connector at the expansion tank and the coolant will trace up to the cluster and back to the fuel pump. check the connector at the tank and at the cluster for any coolant contamination.

If you pull the electrical plug on the coolant bottle in the engine cavity and check to see if there is any coolant resedue inside the plug. If so, there is a good chance your coolant has migrated down the wiring hanress. Check that first. If that is the problem...I can point you into other directions. J
