96 Corvette keyless entry

Here's a good one. I had a beatup remote and it worked fine, but received a new one. I programmed it and it worked fine for a few days, then I noticed that as I walked away the car would not always lock and set the alarm. I had since sold my old remote. The new remote has a new battery and I checked the battery with a volt meter. I re-programmed the remote again, same problem. The remote is working as it will open the hatch and the passenger door button works fine. Could a weak power door lock actuator be the problem? Thanks
