Of all things my check engine light went off while I was leaving Advanced Auto. So How do I find out what the problem is and how did you get the code from the car of what the problem is? The car is running fine....The only thing I've noticed wrong is that the one battery cable is loose, but not to the point where it is falling off. Could it be that one of the fluids is low? cause I know there is a sensor for a few of them.

hazaa! I think I got bad gas at the pump. My tank was running low, and once I put the gas in, the light went away!

It could be that your gas cap wasn't on tight. The emissions system requires a tight seal at the cap.

The bugger came on again today! I think I"m going to just jab the darn thing out with an ice pick Moe style. I'lll have to check on that gas cap thing, maybe it could be the cause. Whatever it is I unhooked hte battery today for about half an hour and then reconnected it. I'll see if it comes back on....

Go to autozone and get the code pulled. They will do it for free. They should be able to tell you what the meaning of the code is. If they cant, then I'll tell you what it means.

yep the turd is back on....going to advanced auto tomorrow to see if they can get the code for me. The nearest autozone is about 20-25 minutes away so I hope they can do it for me. Just keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't something stupid like one of the numerous useless ford sensors...
