I have a question that someone might be able to help with. I know that a car is worth only what someone will pay for it. I have a gentleman who is looking a my 1984 Corvette. States that he has a 1966 Chevy Caprice with the original 283 engine and two sppe automatic trans. The vehicle shows that it has only 13,000 miles and is numbers matching. I have looked at it but not had a chance to examine it as yet. I see no rust and everything seems near show room quality. The motor has been dressed with some chrome. Can anyone give me a ballpark value? I checked the exocit car trader and see a few there but not with the suggested mileage.
Thanks :)
Thanks :)

Is the 66 a 2-door or 4. If it's a 2-dr , is it a fastback or a landau (notchback) roof?

Sorry it took so long to get back. The 66 has 14700 miles and is a fastback. After looking at the vehicle I notice that the paint seems original but needs tough up. Alot of nicks and small scratches. The car is a 2 door, non landu roof. Interior seems original and is only in need of cleaning. The engine is a 283. I have looked under the car and is in solid condition. The crome on the rear taillights and mirror have some light pitting but they are not creators. It now has air shocks and a 2 1/2 in exhaust with glasspacks. I realize that trying to place a value without seeing the car is hard and would not expect anything other than a ball park figure.
Thanks

As long as rust hasn't taken hold anywhere (the rear glass area tends to hold water and rust through.
I can see a fastback going in the $7-9k range. Pics would help assess whether it should be higher or lower than that.
