Shock recomendation?

I have an '87 CRX si with 70K miles on it. I am thinking of starting to deal with the tired suspension, keeping it as a street car. Any recomendations?

Street car as in stock, or street car as in mild mods?

For a stock car I would use KYB's. They are probably the best performing stock replacement shock/struts for these cars.

For a slightly stiffer ride, use the KYB's along with aftermarket progressive springs in the back.

For an even stiffer ride, use Tokico Illumina struts along with the progressive springs (Illumina struts are 5 way adjustable).

For even more stiffness (for race cars) use an '86-'89 Integra rear beam and an aftermarket sway bar with the progressive springs and Tokico's at rear, then for the front use stiffer torsion bars with an Integra sway bar (or a Civic AWD sway bar) and Tokico's.

Thanks for the information, I will give the KYB's a try.

Oh yeah, you can also get polygraghite bushings from Energy Suspension if you want it really firm. But it doesn't sound like that's the direction you're going.

KYB's will work great and are affordable.
