im new to import tuning but taking every chance i get to watch and help friends work on their cars. doing alot of studying on tuning and eclipses. going to drive my truck over the winter and learn as much as possable about working on my car. come spring im going to go to work on it and make it as fast as it looks.



right now the car fits most ppls def of a ricer, but have major plans for it. am i still a ricer?:loser:

wings coming off and getting a not so bright paint. i do get discounts for the sticker its not pointless

The spoiler is the only thing I can't live with. The paint is obnoxious too but it's a lot of money to paint.

well i have a few friends and a brother that have been into imports awhile and know the right ppl to get things done cheap so shouldnt be to bad to fix the looks and the engine up sweat. just i want to do as much to the engine myself that way i know how to work on the mechanics. dont believe you should drive it if ya cant fix most of it yourself. most of all a modded car. am i right?:smokin:

you should read alot on the stickie up top and make sure you use the search button.

personally.....lose the wing..as you have decided to, and the same for the paint, but one other thing is get rid of those HUGE rims. it looks like you have suficcient funds so go and buy some nice light SSR 17's. and get it lowered.

you can swing the rims over this way and ill give you the stock 16s wheels. :thumbsup:

well, even thought the stock high rise turbo wing is a little big, its the only wing i like, and i think it looks especially goo don spyders since the trunk is longer... ricer...dunno...the definiation has been so distorted over the years...basically, do whatever u want and not give a fck about what ppl think.

As long as you can live with it its fine. Also, dont try to make yourself look stupid and say its a ricer, that way your just setting yourself up. If you like your car the way it look then f*** what everyone else says, its your car; your money! The rims are a little too much for me, but as long as you got plans for the car, your fine.

thanks for more replies. hehe its a ricer:naughty: but when im done *drools* ill most likly be able to take down alot of cars in my area. i think murfreesboro,TN is like ricer capitol of the US lol granted ive seen some badass cars around but they are few and very far between. yes i do feel its my car and i do love driving it and most chicks dont know anything lol.
i just have seen quite a few ppl running around with body kits rims but the engine is COMPLETLY STOCK. i do not wish to be one of them. but as the engine gets up to speed i already got the body kit and rims i want minus the spoiler. got a little start with the the greedy headers and cat back and intake. major work will be done this coming spring. its a 2.0 420a engine but im sure i could still get it decently fast.

if anyone can give me thier opinion on what i should mod first and where to go from there that would be GREAT!

im sure everyone mods their car based on what everyone thinks. nos stickers are SOOO COOL throw a ton of those on...you sound like the type to do that

I think what defines a ricer is that they have "big plans" for their car. The problem is that none of them ever get done. Therefore you are still a ricer until either the appearance of the car is changed or the plans actually get done.

Also, I second you on the fact that Murfreesboro is the Ricer capitol of the USA. I dunno, there must be something in the water, either that or there's alot of really stupid guys with cars who are trying really hard to get laid by women of marginal quality. Also, the ricer capitol of Canada is Mississauga, ON.

It's a hot looking car. There are so many cars out there that have no go, but look gorgeous. Keep it 50/50 I say. Unless of course you wanna sleeper then start denting some door panels.

What is the point of putting the muffler to the left of right? I don't get it, but if there's a real reason its done, I'd like to know.

I think it just has to do with the way it looks GSTRACER...i also dont see how that makes you a ricer? maybe if its just a muffler than yea. but if not than i think it looks cool if you do that...thats like saying your a ricer if you have tinted windows.

my point is that a ricer does something thats fake, or cheezy. okay the auto trany can be up to debate for opinions. but those fake rims people put on, and when their first mod is pedals. i mean come on.

Yes i have a totaly audiophile, i have a 1600 watt RMS dimonand audio sub in a labrinty box with 2 (two) rockford 1000 db's on it (one on each voice coil).

but that is no on my mod list like it makes my car fast.

About the live with your parents thing, nothing against it but if you aren't old enough/ have enough money to support your self, then you probabley can't do much serious stuff to a car. Its cool if you are doing simple stuff to learn, so when you are ready to do the real stuff you have some background.

don't get me wrong, i am a TOTAL ricer with my AT accord coupe. it sounds 5x faster than it is.

It all comes down to when I race a ricer and he/she gets completely blown away. Then at that point, Its a humbling experience for them.

I got an Automatic because it was the best deal at the time when I bought my car and I DO take alot of shit for it but you know when I smoke there honda accord I just laugh saying "My Automatic just smoked your ass!" ^^There's nothing wrong with it. Some people wouldn't buy a car AT. Some people don't care if its AT or not. Some people don't know how to drive stick and are unwilling to learn.

IMO though, better drivers drive stick. It takes more involvement, coordination, and skill. Its harder to master and always a challenge.

I just didnt feel like driving a Stick down the 91 Freeway =( Way to much traffic here in So.Cal for me.

You should see Daytona during Spring Break Nationals. Not only is there a lot of traffic, but there's a bunch of drunk people trying to get hit by cars. (I swear they aim for my car)
