What do you guys think?

Possible. Feasable?

Im reffering to the superchared version from an ION.

Anyone think of looking for a wrecked ion in bone yard for a coversion?
What do you think the performance numbers would be with 200 horse 4banger?

Just an idea i though of. Heck mabby someone is workin on one already?

Anything is possible.....it'd be a lot of work to convert the computer, and a lot of custom parts. Hopefully you have access to a machine shop!
If you're looking for a 200 hp 4 banger, you might be better off with the quad 4 conversion....with a few mods you can get over 200hp.

Those motors are the latest (greatest? depends who you ask.) thing from GM and are loaded full of new technology both mechanically and electronically. Even though I'm not a big fan of the quad four, I'm warming up to it and would suggest it over the ecotec becuase the technology involved is more familiar to the aftermarket world. The DOHC Q-4 version is quite powerfull and it's so easy to turbocharge or install a direct port NOS system, a 400 hp quad four is very possible, limited only by the strength of the engine internals you install.

I keep watching this thread:

Performance should be great even without the extra effort being put in this particular project. Better yet, front-back weight ratio may come close enough to ideal.

Have fun!

Wouldn't be surprised if it'll become an easy swap as soon as someone comes up with engine mounts since GM Performance Parts is making the supercharged Ecotec available as a crate engine.

I'm building a 2.2L Turbo version as we speak.

All I'm waiting on is a new Multi-layer Steel Headgasket, as the original one sent to me was damaged.

I have the adapter plate, the bottom end fully balanced, the turbo setup... just waiting on a stupid headgasket. :banghead:
