Voltmeter Gauge... WTF

I bought an APC Voltmeter gauge today and installed it. 2 wires off the gauge, 4 off the inverter. I installed a A/F gauge (APC) no problem. The 2 wires off the gauge goto the inverter, and 2 wires off there goto power. Start up, and all I get is the backglow. The needle doesnt move at all. The instruction are lame as hell and couldve been written by a 2 1/2 year old. You would think that... 2 wires from gauge would be for power. A voltmeter, that measures how much volts, would work when it gets powered.
Anywho, my QU is what am I doing wrong? Do I need to hook it up to something else? It's daisy-chained off my A/F gauge thats hooked up to the cig lighter. Whats the beef? Thanks

best i can say without seeing it is to check all your connections. also try running straight wires for just it instead of having your af gauge inline with it.

DOesn't it seem tho that the gauge should have a couple more wires coming out of it? the 2 wires go straight to the inverter. Seems there should be more. There's not too many choices. When I get home form work, im going to take it off and try a different source of power, like off the bat instead of cig lighter.
If that doesnt work, is it possible to hook up to ECU? I know there's like 4 ground wires. Hack one and find a (+) then. Maybe?

Nevermind. Im an idiot. Little did I notice that there are 2 connectors (bolts) that have a + and a - on it. DURRRRRRRRRRR...
