Looking for a d16y8

I'm looking for a decent d16y8, but have no idea where to look. I've checked several sites like nippon, inline4, and I forgot the others. All I'm finding is b's and h's. If anyone has any good spots to find 1 that would be awesome. I'm trying to stay away from ebay, I want to know what I'm getting is good.

Oh I would also like to know if theres another tranny that will fit onto a d16y8.

Look in a local junkyard, that's probably your best bet. Or search the classifieds sections. Also if you join honda-tech.com message board and wait for your trial basis to run out you can check the classified section there. Other than that you could either pay up the ying yang straight from Honda.
And any d-series tranny will bolt up, so as long as it's a '92+ it will work. For best results you should get a '92-'95 Si or Ex tranny or '96+ Ex tranny to make better use of the engines potential; but still any D will work.

Whats the difference between them. I already own a 96 ex, and my plan is to buy a tranny and motor to build and then just dump it right into the one I already have. I was thinking about just rebuilding the motor and tranny in mine, but idk if it would be cost effetive. Might as well just buy something with less miles. Plus its nice to have a car to get to and from work since I plan on spending tons of coin.

well the '92-'95 Si and EX, and '96+ EX trannies are pretty much the same, anything else has longer gears. With longer gears you won't have to shift as often but you won't accelerate as quickly. For example I have a '94 CX and the gears are so damn high 2nd gear could go all the way to 60mph if I let it; however acceleration is slow as piss. But honestly if your current tranny is fine (no grinding or anything) then you should keep it and just change out the clutch. It it ain't broke don't fix (replace) it.
