What paint for this mod?

I've seen on ebay some of the jdm bumper lights that are completely black. They're just a little to pricey and I can easily get a pair of ones from the junkyard. Well I'm going too and am going to paint the inside chrome part black but when the light blinks, it'll be orange. I like it cause It'll fit on my black bumper perfect and be kinda stealth like. Hehehehe.

What paint should I use for the inside chrome part? Is there some kind of reflected back paint that'll work cause I do want the light be bright when it blinks. And I scrap the chrome off the inside or primer it and then paint?

probably any metallic gloss black will work, and i think if u primer it first it should work better

That's what the description was on Ebay, but anything on there is somehow wrong. But I think they look really sweet with a black bumper. Does anyone have them on there car?

just use anything in your garage....its not gonna chip because its not a high use area.....how often do you get inside your bumper lights ?

I only opened them once to put new bulbs in but the outside clear plastic is cracked and grimmy looking.

Oh, forgot to ask. Can 90-91 crx turn signals or 90-91 4 door turn signals fit my hatch bumper which is a '90? Cause there is a wrecked 91 crx with almost perfect clear bumper lights and I might get the whole housing just incase I mess up. And will the housing fit my bumper too?

just use gloss black spray paint, scuff up the silver on the inside of the light and wash it. it wont make a differnce if your primer it or not.

I was thinkin more of the lines of semi-gloss cause I finally found Melt's method and that's what I'll end up doing.

But let me bump my old question. Will a crx or 4-door bumper light housing fit my hatchback bumper?

I think if its the same year set 88-89 90-91 they will fit between hatch/crx but I dont know about the 4 door.

I guess I'll find out once I hit the junkyard. And that'll be awesome if they do cause then I can get them off that 91 crx.
