Electrical Problems

I am in the process of installing the VKE 1000 keyless entry package from GM in my 93 lumina. I grounded everything to the steering column, the horn honked when i pluged the harness into the module, and i heard a clicking noise. Later that night, my reverse lights would not light up, my battery light came on, and my car slowly started to die. Until i can figure out what the problem is, I disconnected the battery to prevent it from draining. I dont know if I grounded everything wrong or if I shorted a wire... maybe the ignition wire because that and the trunk release wire were the only wires i spliced with the set of wires that came with the package.
