Intermittent high beam

I have a 93 maxima and recently when I turn on the highbeams, the right headlamp will not light. Everything works fine on low beam. If I switch from low to high a couple of times, it will come on, sometimes I can switch to high beam and after 5-10 seconds the right headlamp will come on. I have tried to jiggle the light switch but It does the same thing. Is there a relay in this system? or is it connected directly to the headlight switch?
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Would appreciate any help.
