I am new to this forum, and as my first thread i would like to get some opinions on what mods i should do to my '99 civic ex. I already have a ractive exhaust, and am currently working on a cold air intake(scraping up the cash). But after this i am not sure what i would want to do next, so any insights anyone could or would want to give i'd appreciate it!:bandit:

You first have to answer the question of what you want to acheieve:

Drag race victories?
Lookin' Cool?
Fun day-to-day driving?

Drag race victories:
Forced induction of some kind. Probably start with nitrous.

Lookin' Cool?
I'd personally start with my wardrobe. Class counts more than machismo here.

Fun day-to-day driving?
This is my priority. Let's start by saying that if you're looking for more day-to-day useful power, then start looking towards a B-series engine swap. I/H/E might net you 10 hp by the time you're done - not enough to make much of a difference below 70 mph. From there you can start thinking about supercharger or a buildup of some kind.

Really, what makes driving fun for me is not being stupid and dangerous by doing 200 mph through traffic tunnels in Tokyo, its cornering hard, and having precise handling. The car develops decent power high in the rev band - so the real trick is keeping it up there - good cornering will do more for you here than straight power mods.
If this is your goal too - then your next purchase should be a suspension techniques 19mm rear swaybar or similar. It will upgrade your handling just as much as a good set of tires and wheels.

The same effect can be achieved with much siffer coil springs of the right spring rates, but I don't think you'll like the ride. One caveat - never upgrade your coils without first upgrading your shocks - the ride is nauseating.
