Pissed off a Honda

So itz 1:36 in tha morning and just two days ago I put a performance y-pipe along with a high flo cat on my '89 Maxima. Me and my boy are driving down tha street loving the new sound of the exhaust when we just pass a civic, didn't show off or nothing, just passed by doing about 55. Outa nowhere she floors it :wtf: and is coming up on us hard. So outa tha corner of my eye I can see my boy just sittin smilin and shaking his head yea. He's reading my mind. Problem is, I'm in 5th gear. I floored it anyway but realized that I've got about 300 feet of 2-lane road left, so I throw it in 4th and give it another try. She's still coming up on us kinda quick, so I said f**k it and shifted down to 3rd. By the time I shift down to 3rd, she's already at my rear door, so I floor it again and I stopped her gain on me. I started pullin on her by the time we were neck and neck (about the top end of 3rd gear). By now the 2-lane road has ended and were both fightin for the lane. Needless to say, I ended up in front. Next thing I know she's got her brights in my face, kinda close to my rear bumper, so let's just say I went from 90 to 40 in about 3 seconds :flipa: . So her brights go off (probably thinking imma stop and get out of my car) but I keep going and she took the next left turn. As she was turning either her or the guy in the car with her was yelling something, but I couldn't tell wat :swear: .

When people do that to me and at the end yell something...I swang my ho around after them, get infront again, and do another brake check on 'em..hehehe...[I have road rage out the ass, all the time...]

Ok, I don't condone the "ricer fly-by"....but in this case it would have sufficed for her to do it. Flashing your highs to blind someone is just damn downright dangerous. I NEVER do that no matter what the case is. Of course again I'm not a dickhead and don't do ricer fly-by's either, but god damn. I would have followed her and got in her face about it had it put me in any danger.

Nice kill though, way to show em what's up. Gotta love the bimmers hah.

Another Civic is taught a lesson. Gives other Civic drivers a bad rep. As dumb as that sounds, we already do have a bad rep for being slow, non the less we don't need another one for being A*Holes. Nice job teaching her the lesson though. I agree with 10-sec Hopeful. I probably would have got in her face too. She probably would have kicked my ass, but I would have done the same. Late...

lol i just think its funny that she TRIED to do a fly-by...and got shown up by a 89 Maxima...thats pretty sad...but then again, i DID just get my downpipe and catalytic converter replaced with performance parts...but if i had shifted right into 3rd instead of 4th first, she would have never gotten neck-and-neck with me...o well...(i'm not sure if ur talkin about me havin a bimmer 10sec, although i wouldn't mind havin a bimmer...but o well...a max that turns heads will do...haha)

nice kill, stay safe and as agreed with 10-sec-hopefully you should proly not flash ppl ur high beams like that to offten.

i was not the one to flash my high beams...i kept her from getting infront of me and she got back on my azz n switched her high beams on at me, so i performed a brake test...but i didn't lock them up...i had the pedal about 3/4 da way down, watchin to see if she hit her brakes or not. after i let off the brake she turned her highs off and i took off again...then they yelled somethin out the window as they were turnin left, but i couldn't make out wat they were sayin because my windows were closed...and nor did I do a 'ricer fly-by', i was just drivin, then SHE decided to try to pull one off...but i didn't let her...haha

He jes meant to say it for everyone who read the post, that you should never do it, not saying you did.

I would think that by the time anyone in here works up the money to buy a skyline, the'll invest it into their car and blow everyone off the road, or some motor company will build a car that can kill the skyline. But, a skyline would be nice.. Late...

the horrible flashing of lights is dangerous, but sometimes necessary.

I have road rage. I won't lie to you at all... Some one runs a red light, i hang on my horn, some one nearly clips me, i hold brights and my horn
some stupid soccer mom cuts me off and slams on breaks, i switch lanes, get in front of her (in a one lane) and go 30 mph in a 45. Yea, i'm stupid. i'm not saying im an einstein, but people who go 60 in a 45 where there's a chance kids could be crossing are morons and need to be slowed down... people don't realize that if you are going 15 over the limit and you get pulled over by a cop, it will take more time recieving the ticket than going the speed limit to your destination. jesus man, leave 5 minutes earlier.

Concerning the civic... the idiot girl probably was told by her boyfriend that she could beat your "older nissan" by a mile because he possibly put an intake or something in it... or added an exaust or something retarded. or more realistically, the guy was yelling at her for racing it in the first place because he knew she wouldn't be able to hang and it was dangerous and that by putting on lights an stuff was making her a horrible person.

i wasn't really speeding...i was doin 50-55 past her in a 50 zone...not sayin you are sayin i was speedin before she tried to do a fly-by...but no, her car was completely stock, i didn't hear either an intake or an exhaust...but you're right, it was probably her boyfriend who told her to race me...haha that she could beat me...haha

question...why did you put the y-pipe on there? probably why you couldnt pull in 5th or 4th...killed your low end torque for a few extra high end HP that yo uwill rarely use... :disappoin

actually...no. i put it on there becuz my factory one was shot and so was my catalytic converter, and no, it didn't kill my low end torque and no it didn't give me only a couple horsepower, it gave me between 15-20. and i didn't even take it into 4th gear, let alone 5th. 3rd gear tops out at 90 mph for me, so i was still in third.

15-20 HP?! are you sure? what other mods do you have? Because on a stock engine that's kinda hard to believe. I have a fully built motor and the longtube headers i have added 14HP and 20ft/lbs. of torque.

unless you did a full exhaust system and not just a y-pipe on your car.

Now, we should all try to save i302matt's soul while we can before he loses it. I know we should all enjoy our cars, but your mods will give you maybe 5 whp at the most, not "15 hp" like the people who sold it to you said. Did you do a dyno? You might have even lost some power. Those mods will give you unnoticable power. You do have a 4 banger, right? If you want a fast car, do something that will really make your car fast, not 2 little bolt ons. I bet the "race" would have turned out the same without your "mods"

And one more thing, you shall not say "enjoying the new sound of my exhaust" when referring to a fartcan.

actually...a maxima has a V6, and i have done almost a full exhaust system, and i never said wheel horse power...i was meanin engine horsepower. the only thing i didn't do to the exhaust system is the headers.

yea sorry for the mix-up...i knew i wasn't gettin 15 wheel horsepower...you can't get that with most of the bolt-ons out there...if not all...especially on a 15 year old car with 190K miles on it...i kno a lil about cars...:tongue:

and actually i dont really consider my exhaust a fart can...i see the fart can as those big 3 or 4" round exhausts you see on civics all the time...you know, the ones that actually look like they just welded shiny ass coffee cans on there or something, thats how i think of it as.

the only reason why my exhaust got louder and a lot deeper is because of the downpipe and hi-flow cat. Before it was a lot quieter, but you could tell that i had a aftermarket muffler on it.
