what do you guys think of the 05' Mini Cooper S convertible?
My dad bought one a month ago, the dealer at buffalo wasen't even suppose to sell them so early, but for some reason they did.
I think they are kinda ugly, but my dad has been getting ALOT of compliments on the car.
Whats your take on the mini?

While I think that the original Mini was a cool car but I think that the new Mini is just a fad car like the new Beetle. It seems that they are everywhere and there just isn't the novelty that I expected with the Mini. I still smile every once and a while when I'm driving home and I see this guy driving one of the original Minis and it is left hand drive. It is funny because the car is dwarfed by cars like the Civic.
The new one looks alright, but there is very little practicality to the car and it isn't particularly fast. Not to mention the price point. I would never buy one, and I'll just leave it at that.

The new MINI is much better than the Beetle, more than just a Golf in drag. It manages to be an incredibly good car to drive while being well built and engineered. Good car, but not as good as the original. (Too expensive)

I love the new base Mini because it is such a classy (and classic) looking car. The Mini S' extra body stuff sort of ruins the new Mini's handsome look.

The Mini is high priced, but the Mini S is a fair price. It's definitely a decent performing car that has a good amount of interior space. I mean at 25k, and if you like the looks, there isn't much competition. WRX, Mustang GT, ehhh...

The new mini. While I am a purist, and love the old one, the new one is so nice to drive and really well engineered thanks to BMW that you just have to love it. And you may think its expensive, but it retains more of its value than any other hatchback, and with 5 years/50'000 mile servicing for the single £100 payment of the TLC pack, its a tempting proposition.
I for one love the cabriolet too. Its got flair, and looks cool and modern, while managing to retain its classic mini heratage.
The cooper S Works is something else. 210bhp is serious poke in a little car like that!

It's a fun little car to flog around, i've driven a few and they're surprisingly quick. Dont care much for the look though.

when i drove one, i loved it. handles great, looks nice, and goes quite quickly. I didn't like the speedo/tach configuration. I prefer having both of them right above the steering wheel, not having to look at the center of the dash.

i dont care much for base Coopers..But the S-type is a different story...I got to drive my aunts Cooper S with the John cooper works performance package and that thing hauled ass...Not only did it have a smooth shifting 6-speed Getrag but it took on corners like slicing through butter and its 0-60 time was a swift and comfortable 6.9- 7s..I also got plenty of looks although my friend questioned my sexuality when he saw me crusin by even though he drives a Pink Ford Fiesta and its automatic......

who gives a shit if the post is 10 months old or 10 years old. I was going through the topics, found one I wanted to reply to, and posted. Isn't that the purpose of a forum? Are you the forum time limit police? Tell me, what is the standard time limit? 1 day, 1 week, 1 month? Please inform me of the appropriate posting ettiquette, so that I can appease your overwhelming anal-retentiveness. You obviously have nothing better to do than keep me in check. By the way, you can close every f-ing thread in this forum, and I promise not to lose any sleep over it.

Im definately not losing sleep...Im just saying your not allowed to bring back old threads...Its pointless to bring back an old thread, the conversation is done, let it go...and < 1 month
Why would you make a thread about Coopers, then bring the exact same thread back from 10 months ago to talk about the same thing??
