New sterio resets when car is turned off

I just got a new Pioneer deck for my 89 sonata but everytime i turn the ignition off, the sterio resets itself, such as the clock and all settings. This is because there is no power supply once the ignition is turned off. The sterio is hooked to the direct 12v lead from the battery and the red ignition lead from the ignition switch. Is there any way that I can keep a constant supply of power to the deck once the car is turned off to keep the clock and memory functional?

If you have the constant hooked strait to the battery (for sure) then it should keep memory. The only other thing I could suggest is to check the ground. This is all hands on troubleshooting with an altimeter.

If everything turns out fine, you may want to check the stereo it's self.
