I inatalled halogen foglights behind the grill of a 90 Accord EX Coupe, however it is melting the plastic horizon slates of the grill.

Has anyone found a better place to install fog lights?

If it is a place that is not to visible then just get some heat wrap and put it between the lamp and the plastic that should keep it from melting...

No it is not clear, i was basically talking about the stuff you can wrap headers with to theoretically reduce the amount of heat they give off, i'm pretty sure you can get it at any auto parts store but if it's in a visible place you will be able to see it.

Once again i don't really know what kind of space your working with but it shouldn't melt unless the lamp is touching the plastic, try adjusting the lamps or adding a spacer to raise them up and away from the plastic.

The fog lights are in a tight area directly behind the grill they can not go back any further...and they are not touching the grill.....Any ideas?

I don't really understand how they are melting plastic if they are not touching it...if this is the case those are some damn hot lights...i'm stumped i guess, make sure they are always not touching the grill (e.g make sure that they don't move around or something when your driving causing them to touch) Good Luck!
