timing belt

im trying to put a timing belt on a 91 integra gs and i cant get the belt on.lined eveything up the cams are lined up and crank is in line wht trhe oil pump dot. but belt will not go on. any ideas.

u need to loosen ur tensioner first. when u do that u can just slip the belt on the gears. u might need to pull a little on the belt to make it go over the gears.

another method is to loosen the cam caps. then lift up on the oposite side of the cam (side opposite side of cam gears) and that should give u enough room to place the belot on the gears. then install the cam caps again. this might be too much trouble. stick with the first method!
