Tire Pressure

what tire pressure should i use for a set of bfg mud terrian 265/75/16?
they are on a short box, reg cab.

what does it say on the tire?? does it say 35?? i forget. i put em on all the time but i do so many cars i dont remember. i know on the truck it says 35.

I have the bfg all terains and here is what i have found out. First the tire says 65 psi max wich is what you would run it at when loading the truck heavy or hauling a trailer. You might get away wiht running the fronts 5 lbs less when hauling but be carful. When just driving street i have tried running at 60 then 55 and eventually to 50 in the front and 45 or 47 on the back. What happens is while running higher pressures unloaded you just run down the rubber in the middle of the tires. Also stay vigilant with rotation and balancing. Leave a pare on the rear to long and suddenly on pair has a great deal less tread. My truck has posted on the door run tires at 50 lbs from the factory and after listening to some threads here on the forum i found they were right when they said stay pretty close to what came reccomended from factory. Of course my truck came stock with a lt grade tire wich requires higher pressures. A lower load rated tire ,street tires, may say less and you should follow that ecommended pressure. I think i will get the 45000 out of these tires as stated by bfg, but you sure have to pay attension to them..JJ

PS run any less then 45 on these and the handling of the vehicle drops away quikly..JJ

Um..I'd put 35 in each tire. They recommend like 50 psi, but 35 wears great, handles great, and..hell, its just great!

i would actually recommend 45 pounds. it all depends on what is says for the truck.

Call BFG @ 1-877-788-8899 choose 1 then 5. Have the info from your original tires handy (ie. size, pressure and load rating). They can calculate the appropriate pressure for you.

I am running my 275/70R16D A/T's at 45 psi as per their suggestion. They are wearing nicely and handle great.
