thanks for the posts guys, that keeps me motivated to work on this beauty.
:feedback:
thats it for today, need to buy car wax tomorrow hopefully and ill see you then!
PS. GOD BLESS TAMIYA SPRAY PAINTS FOR BEING SO USER FRIENDLY, in comparance to the stinky testors spray that is runny as water and never dries totally!
thats all =)

I used Tamiya gun-metal one time and that had a hard time going into the panel lines.

I have found that primer helps the paint go into panel lines. Not totally but alot better than without primer.

when you have "hard time" to get paint in panel line, it's becose you make your coat of paint too tick at first... :nono:

primer + patience and slow spraying + pre-heating the can of paint = panel lines and every nook and cranny covered in paint.

You needed to do a few light mist coats first to allow the paint to stick to the primer and the panel lines. Then add a few "heavy" coats after it has dried.

nice progress, i think fujimi's quality on this kit is poor. At least it came with chrome lights unlike most of their kits!!!

Hey Zlaja!
Keep up the pace and show us some more nice progress soon. Don't rush the polishing and waxing, let the paint sit for a while so it doesn't mess up for you. As already stated, build up the color coats slowly with some mist coats first and then follow up with wet coats and you will be just fine. But I understand you, I've been modeling for over 30 years now and I'm still impatience some times. Always messing up when I can't hold my temper and rush on with the next step :-D

wee more progress, managed to pull of the cf-ing on the hood yesterday, more or less. did some overlapping on the cf cuz i needed to lay another layer of black, since the decal left awful marks on the body and applied a layer of clear coat for some minutes ago, whatever, here are the pic and remember its my first try on decal larger that 1cm2
and another note to ppl in my age, NEVER EVER build models wile you play Counter-Strike, its get really messy =)

wow you're very fast....can't wait to see this kit finished. btw, did you encounter any problem building this kit? any tips?

Yeah, I play Counter Strike all the time when I'm making models. The biggest problem i have tho is being AFK and getting kicked about every 5 minutes. Gives you something to do while the paint dries tho. :)

Good progress so far, looks very promising. Black looks really sinister on the RX-8. But you might want to take off the Nismo decal as Nismo only caters to Nissans, and either choose Enkei or Rays as they are both wheel companies, or remove them both as you are planning to use the Veilside rims. Sorry for the nit-picking...its your model, do what you want, it looks awesome either way!

who says that you cant change rims? maybe have many sponsors and change rims often.

ummmm....OK. :screwy:
Build for yourself, its only my opinion. Just my personal experience of being in the Show car/sponsorship deal for 7 years that rival companies dont usually share cars at the same time. But there are exceptions to everything. Even if you keep the Nismo decal...its still an awesome build. Cant wait for the finished product. any interior progress?

well the interior has begun.. the seats are going to be... PURPLE :D you heard right, purple, the same paint as my enzo is going to be. :D
Zlaja_
10-13-2004, 04:21 PM
the seats got finished today, purple as i said before and got a cf back, the cf was in one piece, as i couldnt do as someones tut when you mask the back and cut out afterwards, but it turned out good with some minor flaws, that you wont see anyway when the ride is done, to the pics:

as some may have noticed that it aint the stock seats, i changed seats cause the standard were so ugly and tall and slim

I agree with weapon X....mazdas should not have nismo decals on it...thats something a ricer would do or a crazy guy with a mustang with GT-R badges (seen it before), but whatever....
