Trouble Starting Overnight Hill--

I drive a 2002 Honda Accord. I drive the car almost every day, multiple times of day. However, about a total of 4 or 5 incidents, my car has been really hard to start after it was not started/driven for a day or two. What happens is that I'll turn the key and the starter will grind and the car won't start. After a few attempts, I'll get the car started by putting my foot on the gas and during that start blue smoke will run out of the exhaust (my father noticed). What I observed about these hard to start situations -- it occurs whenever I let the car sit more than a day and the car is parked on an angle (parked on a driveway uphill). I have brought it to Honda but they have not fixed it because the yellow check engine light does not register for these situations so they do not know what is wrong. I am very clueless as to what is wrong and am thinking of getting my fuel injectors cleaned or fuel filter as it may solve the problem...? Any advice is appreciated.

Blue smoke is a sign of burning engine oil, in my opinion it sounds as though you have a bad seal around your valve stems (i.e. bad valve guides) and oil is slowly working it's way down the valves and into the combustion chamber. This would explain the blue smoke and the difficulty in starting the car after it's been sitting for a day or more. Is this a high mileage car, the reason I ask is because the car is so new, it would seem odd to have bad valve guides this early in the game.

Having a value leak could be what is causing the problem. Your explanation sounds logical. My car is about 2 1/2 years old with just over 40,000 miles. My father has a general knowledge of car maintanence (changes the oil, cleans the battery sockets,filters...) and I'll have him check around the valves for leaks. If he doesn't see anything, I'll have Honda check it out during my next oil change. Thanks Forklifter for your feedback!
