I am thinking about doing a performance mod on my car, but there are three things I am considering, but I want to hear what everyone else has to say. I have a 1997 Mitsu Eclipse Spyder GS-T, Manual Tranny.

1. Get a big 16G and just run with that.
2. Get an alcohol injection kit and a manual boot control and just boost more.
3. Get a nitrous kit, or ive seen one that shoots into the intercooler rather than into the combustion chamber.

Thoughts? Opinions? Pros, Cons?

Yes all except the exhaust, I had a shop custom bend some pipe and put on a magnalflow muffler.

you prob want to get a few more mods in before you go for some of that stuff. Get yourself a intake pipe and filter. You prob also want to get a boost gauge, before just turning up the boost. Changing the bov and the UICP would be a smart choice. I guess what im trying to get at is, try to build you car before just throwing in a big mod with no support.

Good Luck!

Nitrous, shitty intercooler sprays, or alcohol can't replace the power a turbo gives. Nitrous could, but the T25 is just really small. Get a 16g :)

the mod guide is the best. you cant just put on a bigger turbo and expect for it to work good. stuff will mess up. you need suporting mods first so it can be able to support a bigger turbo.

everyone hates the T25....snifff***

and yeah, all those fuel additives and crap aint sheeaat compared to the madddening power a turbo can deliverrrrrrrr.

But lay the groundwork first. Injectors, regulator, pump, FMIC BOV MBC ApeksiSFAC blah. all-o-that stuff, basically. I might be getting a 24r from dsmtuners soon!! yeah!

I like T25s, I was recently thinking of tossing one on and going for the record.

With a t25, K&N FIPK intake, 2.5" bushur exhaust, UICP with 1g BOV, and a boost controller, I ran 14.2s on pump and 13.7s on race gas. No other mods, unless I forgot one in my old age. Thats a good start. At that point the car will be screeming for more airflow and a turbo will really help. Add fuel upgrades and fuel control/datalogging, and you have a 12 second potential car. 14b is a low cost alternative as well. One step at a time, and you'll get there. Even if you do go with water/alchol/methanol injection or nitorus, you'll still want a bigger turbo to start with.
