gears for street and strip?

OK I have a 67 ford galaxie and am going to get new gears for the rearend and want to know how high I can go to do good at the strip and still be able to drive it around town I was thinken of some 4.11's but want your opinions- I will barely ever drive on a highway with this car so its all in town driving if that helps. Thanks!

If its around town Id say somewhere in there would be right. Thats pretty low and without overdrive youll get shitty mileage on the highway. I always stick with the3.50 to 1 for all around greatness. If you have the 390 youll have plenty of torque to take off and will have a hard time sticking to the asphault with 4.11s.

I used to keep a range of hogheads set up for swaps. Most of the time I'd run 3:70's for a mixture of town & country. Remember to figure in your tire's profile as part of the ratio. G60-14 with 3:70 was about the same as 4:11's with stock height tires.
