Engine Swap

yo I was wondering if anyone knew what performance engine would fit into my 1999 Eclipse RS. the engine cought fire the other night and i want to swap it with a performance engine.... i dont have that much money to play with but i can afford something b/t 2000-3500$... thanks

None will drop in. You can either turbo your stock engine, or get the whole turbo car.

theres a sebring engine, but you need a little work. its not a direct drop in.

so your saying nothin will fit into a RS?

Not for 2000-3500$...:cwm27:, If you want to put a turbo engine on it you have to spend the money on the engine (like $1200) and then pay to someone to make the mod and mounts to put it on your engine bay. Or do it your self spend like 6000 i think that thats the price Joe said it would cost (not sure)

And about the sebring engine, 1st what's the adventage of the engine is a V6 140hp thats it, Am i wrong?, 2nd you have to buy the engine maybe the same price + o -, then mod your engine bay even more cause that engine looks bigger and the mounts again, pluss your are gonna need a new harness and ecu (I think,not sure about that). 3th what the difference with the 420a engine (RS-GS):eek7:???

I think he means the 2.4 sebring motor

you really dont have a wide variety when it comes to "dropping" and engine into your car.
