help me and my starter

i have a 1974 beetle type 1 and im having problems with the copper bushing (i cant get it out:(((() please help asap i have tried penetrating lubricants and screwdrivers but it just wont come please help

You can find a special pilot bearing puller, but I've always been able to carefully drive a very small screwdriver or pick between the bushing & housing. Just put a rag in there so the pieces you break out don't fall into the bell housing. To oil the new bushing just put it on one finger, fill it with oil & compress the oil with another finger. The oil will permeate the bearing.

thasnk for your help it really worked out we got the starter on now were workiing on the stero and the shifter funfun in the sun hopefully it wont rain lol lol
