Best engine to boost?

I've been looking into the j-body cars, and I'm going to get a 98 sunfire, but, I plan on putting a T3/T4 Turbocharger on it. What is the best engine to boost with this turbo? I want an engine that can take the boost after I install headers, fordged pistions, and a better intake manifold, also maybe a 50 wet shot of NOS. I'm looking to get to 260-300 hp. I would also like to know the Rev bands on the engines I can get. I want info on

the 2.4 liter
the 2200 engine
the 2.2 liter engine
or the Quad 4 engine

If you have any info on what I want then post some stuff up. Thx

None are really meant to handle that much boost and a shot of nos, unless you own an engine shop and win the lottery regularly. the ECO is your best bet for boost out of any of the J series 4 cylinder motors. it is a proven stout motor.

Now comes the real problem, you wont be able to drive the car on the street with that much HP. the tranny and suspension, not to mention the chassis will not hold up to the abuse.

As the old saying goes "with money, anything is possible"

I talked with the salesman.
If you want around 300hp get the complete stage 4 kit for the 2.4L and get the ported pollished head along with everything else.
Pricetag $3000 US there and abouts.

I would go with a LD9 or the L61. The LD2 is even a good motor, but youll have to run OBD1 with that engine so your best shot are the 2.4 and 2.2.

Now you know that having a turboed car, you will not be able to have a header since the turbo manifold will be there instead.

If your looking for 300hp, theres alot of things you need to do to get that. I would say it would take no more the 10k, probably 7k-8k. Whatever motor you get youll have to rebuild it and replace just about everything in the motor from the rods to pistions, i would also go with some headwork, and new valves and so on. Basicly alot of work.

i could go on forever, but just ask if you need help.
