Clear coat looks textured?

I previously applied my first paint coat ever. Came out fairly bad with drips and sand marks, etc. So I waited a couple days sanded and reapplied basecoat about four coats and Ill say it looked great. I waited about 25 minutes and then applied the clear. It went on pretty rough looking so I ran over it again thinking it might have been too thin. Well it does look ok some places but the entire paint job now looks like I put some kind of texture or something. Is there anyway to smooth it? Should I try clear coating again? Maybe polish or something? Please help ASAP

try wet sanding with 1200-2000, then wax.

First off, in my opinion I think the clear was put on wait to early. Also, did you use the same brand and type of paint all the way through?

same paint - crossfire and clear coat. my neighbor sais it was probably a little cold and it is called fish eyeing and to wet sand and then use "soft compound" to bring back polish does that sound right? he said use 1000 paper and a block with a little water.

when you first noticed the texture you should have just sanded it smooth and re-apply the clear.
