Air suspension trouble.

My expedition 2001, Eddie Bauer with air suspension auto load leveling and 65000 miles is leaning to the left. Regardless of where I park it (level surface), the left side (front and back) is lower than the right by the same distance. I have recorded differences of 1 ¼” and 1”.
I had checked manually (the height sensors front and back) and they respond accordingly. Also, I let the system to pump the rear bags and the front shocks and then, I turned the switch to the OFF position. The next day the vehicle was at the same height, no air loss.

Is there a sensor that controls the left-to-right height? If not how do I balance the left-to-right?
Thanks
Luis

Your left to right height on your vehicle is controled by a module that controls all the functions of the air suspension. It sounds to me like you either have one of three common problems with these vehicles.
1. Bad Module
2. Burnt out Relay between the module and the height sensors.
3. Bad vent solenoid in the compressor.

I would have all those checked first. Sorry for the late responce. If you need any more help just post back and I will do my best.

Thanks for the response. I contacted one of the members, Racetricks (Mike) who had the same problem but with the passenger side. His solution, I was told by others the same, was to adjust the torsion bars. I did so with excellent results and it was so easy. After tweaking the torsion bars I checked the level on the running boards and adjusted the rear by half inch.

Bad module: The air system responds to all conditions such turning engine off (lowers), engine on (rises), 4x4 (rises more) but it was leaning to the left the same amount (aprox 1") front and back.
Burnt out Relay between the module and the height sensors: The height sensors respond accordingly during a manual test.
Bad vent solenoid in the compressor: I don’t know how it works.

The good news is that this coming Monday I may trade my ’01 Expy Eddie for a ’05 Expy Limited without the air suspension.
Thanks for your help.
