Recently it has gotten colder were I live. I start my stang up in the mourning when it's been sitting threw the night and it will start and then the rpm's will just drop until it dies. The second time I start it, it will hold it's own and idle. My question is what is the cause of this is it the colder weather any tips on what else it could be or if it's a regular occurrence. I never had this problem when the weather was warmer.
Thx for help.

Do you have aftermarket pullies? Three-piece pulley kits (crank, waterpump and alternator) aren't often recommended on regularly driven cars using stock charging systems because the slower turning speed of the alternator can cause hard starting problems, especially in damp, cold weather conditions.

do you drive the car all year, if you store it during the winter then you dont have anything to worry about

Yes I installed a pulley kit a couple of weeks ago. Would a stronger alternator be a fix?

Hey man, my car does the same thing. It just doesn't like the cold weather, and I have to stabilize the idle when I first start it up on a cold day.

Yeah today when I started it I reved it until the rpms stabilized. I'll just do that, until warmer weather comes around. :bigthumb:
