what BOV is this

ever watched 2fast2furious? remember the skyline. ever heard the BOV on that ? its more of a air brake sound rather than the PSSHHH sound. just wonderin what kinda BOV is that. cuz im planin to put it on my 240. aite thanks.peace

just curious.. what kind of turbine are you using for your ka/sr/rb??

im planing to get a precision SC-61 T3/T04E turbo. i already have a blitz 3 inch down pipe and a stainless steel test pipe lead out a 3.75 inch apexi GT-spec exahust system, also planing to get an enjuku exhaust manifold. Im running a Sr20det . damn i really want that BOV , i loove that sound .. lol .

did u ever think the sound could have been made due to the careful planning of a person who does sound effects for movies maybe it wasnt the sound a a real BOV at all just thought u might want to take that into consideration

The Bov On The Car Is A Turbonetics One According To Scc... But I Never Listen To Them Anymore.

its nitrous purge.. basically pure nos being cleared out of the engine through the bov (i'm pretty sure its pushed out by back pressure).. you can get kits that do this without actually having nos but thats just rice (everybody has to agree on that.. this kit has no power/performance advantage, just makes it look like you have something you don't) if you actually have a boosted nos engine, then you will probably get this.. if you use nos off the line (using it off the line gives you a quicker start) then it'll come out as soon as your bov opens from letting off the gas. its from the stand alone fuel management and spoon throttle body,where the throttle body can't handle the backpressure.. again, complicated but do you get it? almost any decent bov will make that sound but for this movie, in that car i think its the godzilla from turbonetics

THE PURGE VALVE OF THE NITROUS SYSTEM IS COMPLETLY SEPARATE FROMT HE INTAKE TRACK. AND NITROUS ESCAPING FROM A BLOW OFF VALVE SOUNDS LIKE AIR ESCAPING FROM THE BOV. SPOON THROTTLE BODIES ON A NISSAN.... SEEING AS SPOON IS A HONDA MOTORSPORTS BRAND I HIGHLY DOUBT THEY WOULD MAKE A THROTTLE BODIE FOR THE RB26DETT LET ALONE 6 OF THEM! THE THROTTLE BODIES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH BACK PRESSURE UNLESS YOU ARE REFFERING TO INTAKE REVERSION IN THE PLENUM (WHICH CAN'T HAPPEN BECAUSE THERE IS NO THROTTLE BODY TO HOLD THE AIR IN THE PLENUM)... IN A GTR IT IS INDEPENDANT THROTTLE BODIES SO ANYTHING THAT PASSES THROUGH THE THROTTLE BODY IS ALREADY IN THE HEAD....

to tell you the truth, after reading what i wrote, i don't understand it either.. the smoke is coming from the bonnet and the smoke is nos, but the amount of nos that comes out of that car in the movie is nowhere what its really like.. i'm gonna save society the pain and not try to explain it again cause as you can see, i attempted and it was quite the failure.. musicsurfman, explain it to people so it makes sense and so that people understand

i know of a BOV that sounds similar. but not quit as smooth. the BOV that sounds close to it will be a SARD blow off valve. the sounds exactly like the BOV in the R32 GT-R from initial D.

I haven't seen the movie, but are you referring to the squeaky-chirpy kind that sounds kinda like a whistle? The HKS SS sounded like that on the Evo buildup that Craig Liberman did on F&F. Pretty much a waste of 20min.

also the bov's from the first movies are high pitched, and i know for a fact that its not a hks SSQ. the sound of the HKS is a whistle followed by a wosh. the BOV's they used are Greddy type S's and i'm positive cause i have one and every other person i know that has it agrees that it sounds just like the ones used in the movies.

however those are just sound effects becuase like in the first one, the lime green eclipse is a RS model. it has no disk brakes in the rear, and when they poped the hood open, it was chromed out 420A engine in there, not a 4G63. and that red MOMO teg driven by jarule was n/a

The "How to trick out an import car" section used a HKS SS. It was a chirpy type. I thought the Greddy type s was more like a air compressor discharge. At least thats what it sounds like on my friends 1g DSM. But I do agree that most of the cars in F&F were sound effects. The only one that was real was the Supra. I'm sorry but I still think that car sounds damn good to this day. IT would be a sick car without all the stickers and shit.

well which ever car that blow off valve came from. it sure ain't from the lime green eclipse cuase that cars not even turboed. and i garantee you thats how a greddy type S sound like. just listen to him rev it at the parking lot tryin to top the car out. if you listen to a HKS in person, it sound similer to a type S. but there are some difference. the HKS has a large whosh sound. and your friends DSM with the type S. the reason why his only makes a whosh sound is becusae the bov spring isn't set tight enough. every other greddy type S owners i knows makes a very very high pitch sound. including mine. and i know one dsm owner that makes a high pitch sound. however i also know one dsm owner who valve makes a whosh sound which i find very very odd. in my opinion his is set waaay too lose since his valve opens like nothing. even just reving it to 2K it would open by alittle. its not suppose to open at all unless you hit "0" on the boost gauge. so yeah your friends bov is set too loose. tell him to tighten it and you'll hear how a type S is really suppose to sound.
