Well in short I'm not too sure that enigne would fit w/o working the body. You'd need a tranny, accessories, suspension, a shitload of stuff going from 6 to 8.

It would deffinately take a lot of work, but if you could make it work and build up that 400 it would be totally badass!

that can be done without to much trouble. you will need small block motor mounts(not hard to get), new tranny, new rear end(12 bolt is best bet), the suspension will be alright unless you really build up that motor.(some subframe connectors couldnt hurt). so yea everythign you need is readily available but you better have at least 2 grand to do it.

i would have to disagree on the suspension, and on the amount it would cost. certainly more than 2 grand, and i wouldnt trust the third gen RS suspension with a 400 motor in the car...

yeah you would definetly need a whole new suspension upgrade to get all the power to the ground and to keep you safe

the key problem with a 400 block in a third gen is chassis flex, so subframe connectors, and possibly an internal roll cage would be a good idea to tie the car together and make it more ridgid. find a totalled V8 doner car or contact www.fbodymotorsports.com to get the parts you need. the rear end does not nessesaraly have to be a 12 bolt, there are more cost effective alternatives. a 12 bolt for a third gen is sold by moser for 1200 bucks, you can contact www.9bolt.com and get a 7.75in ring gear 9 bolt rear end that will handle 500/500 power levels just fine. and its only a couple hundred dollars. there is one at a local junkyard where i live right now im looking at for a almost a third of the price of what the moser 12 bolt is. and most of the 9 bolt rears came with disk brakes to boot. build the tranny to handle the power, youll have to run the 700R4 unless you swap to the T56, cuz a 400 block will eat a T5 alive in no time flat.

Is the 6.6 400 the big block or is the 400 small block same litre ? If it's a small block , Ditch the car and just go get a gutted one from some where that had an 8 in it at one time. I wish I could get my hands on a failry new 400 small block , I heard people can pull nearly 1200 HP out of them.

me thinks 1200 hp is a bit of stretch, but you can get em going...
