overheating sebring v6/96

my 96 sebring recently overheated out of no where. it blew fluid out of the plastic resevoir, i checked the coolant levels and it seemed fine.
I started the car after letting it cool off, and felt the radiator hoses and it seemed like nothing was flowing through. There are no hoses leaking, no head gasket issues (yet) no antifreeze leaking anywhere, both of the fans on the radiator do not turn on when it got hot..
can anyone give me a suggestion?

Sounds like your themostat has stuck shut. Have it replaced.

Try taking the cap off and see if the radiator fluid is low. Mine overheated because even though the overflow/reserve tank was full, it was not pulling from the reserve into the radiator. You can also use a bottle of 'water wetter' by redline or similar to drop temp @ 20 degrees in a pinch.

You can put the thermostat in a pan of hot water to see if it's not opening up.

I needed it fixed, so i took it in and apparently the water pump was bad, not pushing fluid.. the car ran fine for a week, now it just won't start at all.. the motor spins an spins.. i'll post another thread about this.

Hi there, the same thing happened to my 96 sebring, It turned out to be a water line that runs thru the middle of the motor under the fuel injector, I had a o ring put on the pipe, but also had water pump and timing belt replaced. sounds like your timimg belt has broken.
