Your kit is almost exactly the same as the one I pieced together for a friend. Except he's using a T3/T04e turbo and a RevHard log style mani.

Get that shit installed already.

BTW the WS2 comes with 2.3" pipes

10-06-2004, 10:10 AM
would it be a lot harder to instal a turbo with out a kit,

GScivic7
10-06-2004, 11:08 AM
no it isn't if you know what to buy and where to get it from.

Ricochet
10-06-2004, 12:11 PM
Cool. You'll like it for a few weeks, then you'll want faster..

lkailburn
10-06-2004, 02:20 PM
haha yes i hear the bewst bug is notorious for that.

it is MUCH cheaper to put together your own setup than buying a kit but a kit is obviously easy.
if your interested in doing your own setup check out www.homemadeturbo.com and www.turboD16.com

great sites, with very friendly ppl

unfortunatley because this is my daily driver, i'm gonna put it off until the spring. i'm lapping the valves and prepping the head etc. and getting all the turbo piping and stuff ready over the winter so first thing come spring will be mini-me
then turbo and exhaust and tuning.
then clutch and fly.

How would a turbo react to an auto civic? I mean a turbo set at low boost to not hurt anything.

GScivic7
10-06-2004, 02:51 PM
low boost would be fine. I'd say, depending on the turbo you could run up to about 10 psi before having your tranny poop out on you. Then it's time to send it to level 10 and have them rebuild it and throw in a quick shift kit with like a 4000 rpm stall speed torque converter. I bet that would annihilate anything that is a manual with the same engine/turbo setup.

lkailburn
10-06-2004, 03:15 PM
yah low boost would be ok on the auto tranny but. depending on how much you go into boost and stuff.. it could wear fast.

guys i got another package today. added it to the bottom of the page of pics

Clutchmasters? Stage 3 niceeee. Driving that is so fun, and hard in traffic!

GScivic7
10-06-2004, 03:47 PM
coming together slowly but surely. The turtle always wins the race remember that. Good to see you're doing things the right way.

lkailburn
10-06-2004, 04:06 PM
:) yeah the kit should be very nice and clean and all kinks worked out so come spring i can slap it all on :) i'm so pumped.

yah im still very unsure about which clutch to go with. this is daily driven so i don't want somethin thats gonna be a pain to drive in traffic every day.

which wheel are you talking about?

i got the rsx seats from a local guy. i got the full set of front and rears for 260!!!! :naughty: and they had been fabric treated from the dealer and are garunteed not to stain or fade for 6 yrs :iceslolan :iceslolan

i love the seats, they are soo comfortable, sporty looking and oem quality. i just hope that sometime i will get my lazy ass up and have the brackets that i made welded onto the rails instead of simply bolted on. i would feel a bit safer when its all welded up

Wow that is cheap I cant beleive that
The steering wheel the s2000 one?
Was that expensive? did it come with an airbag?

lkailburn
10-12-2004, 07:46 PM
mines just an oem civic steering wheel. i WISH i had an s2000 wheel

but for your info yes you can hook up the airbag and horn and even cruise control in the steering wheel.

well to be honest one of the cylinders had a ring failure, and on the sleeve of that cylinder there is a raised bump. like not a scratch or gouge, a bump. so i think it could be honed out but i don't know if you'd have to resleave it or not. in that case its prolly not worth it to you to have me ship out a not so good block lol.
but if your doing a complete rebuild it wouldn't affect thta at all.

hehe i'll sneak in another update:
two more boxes came today!!
i need your opinions on them.

NICE car, keep it clean like THAT.
very good complation of Pics.
IMO, Valve Covers are easier to paint when they are taken off the head. Thata way you don't have to worry about droping shit. Also when I repainted mine, I took it to a Machine shop, and they sandblasted it for like $10. Then you wont have to sand or prime. :)

lkailburn
11-29-2004, 10:14 PM
thnx man i appreciate the complements..

yah im putting all new seals and lapping the valves and junk so that valve cover is off. i started sanding it down but it was just taking way to long. so i'll have my dad blast it for me like you suggest.

thanx again!
