Hello, I am new to this site. Does anybody know where, or how to buy the rear tires for an F1. I am building an FFR Daytona Coupe, and the 315/45ZR17's are the exact size I need. Goodyear and Michelin said they don't offer the tires in that size, and I can't find an email address to Mclaren to see if they can be ordered through them.... Thanks

You might be able to source the tires through Turner Motorsports. I'm not positive on that, but it might be worth a try.
I too have gone looking for the F1s tires and have never seen them for sale anywhere.

I read somewhere that the tires are only fitted at the McLaren Factory, and that they break in a new set of four for you. It doesn't look like any of the peripheral service centers distribute tires, other than to maybe replace one that was damaged.
I highly doubt that you could get ahold of them from anywhere but the McLaren Factory, and I highly doubt you'd be able to buy a pair since you're not a F1 owner.

I heard from Beal's mechanic that McLaren and Ferrari have access to all those tires, and you can get them only through them...F50 and F1 use those. He also said price went up quite a bit as well.

I did look at Ferrari and some other supercars and could not find any other car maker that uses that size tire. Does anyone have info on how to email Mclaren. Their site dos not have an email address that I could find.
Amanichen, maybe your right. I called Goodyear and Michelin, and they simply said they don't offer that tire and had no info on a tire that size...

Are you sure you don't want 315/35 R17?
Most cars run this size if they run 17s.

The Mclaren uses a 315/45zr17 tire. It's a little under 2 inches taller than the 315/35zr17... Thanks

Any luck with Turner Motorsports?
BTW: I didn't mention this earlier, but the Factory Five Daytona is a sweet kit.

I doubt you would be able to get hold of any on the open market, they were specially designed and have a very high side wall and an asymmetrical tread pattern.
On the other hand, maybe you should be searching for tyres instead ;)

Sorry, but we don't have the tires or access to the tires. I have only seen new tires come in once and that was from McLaren Cars direct. Since they probably won't sell them to you my only recommendation is to go through Michelin direct. Since it's not for an F1 they can't say, "Call McLaren."

Sorry to put you on the spot Drew. I recall one previous story that led me to believe you guys might be able to source certain parts. Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks for all of the help! I will try Michelin again and see if I can order them. Mclaren won't sell them unless you own one of their cars? Interesting, they sure could sell a bunch of them to the kit car crowd.
Yes, the Coupe's a sharp looking car. It should be a lot of fun too. I am using a 575hp engine, 6-speed trans and 3:27 gears. FFR says the car weighs 2250 lbs complete.

We have in the past but through BMW NA (and I don't think they keep tires in stock) and it was little stuff for the most part.
