Have a jetta gls 97 with auto tranny. About 2 months ago, got engine light on and the car would run real slow. It was going on & off for several weeks and for the past 3 weeks, it is continously on. Had the codes read and it popped up as:

P0763 (shift solenoid C Electrical),
P0715 (input turbine sensor circuit malfunction)
on the net I also found these codes reflected as
P0763 (solenoid valve EV3 - N90)
P0715 (trans vehicle speed sensor (G38) No signal - interruption in signal)

What does this means and what parts do I need to replace.

The car runs fine except it doesn't seem to shift into 3rd gear because the RPM shoots above 4k when it goes above 55mph.

It's possible the P0715 is just a bad sensor, but the P0763 is more concerning as it is probably a bad internal shift solenoid or wiring. It is probably in limpp mode & willnot go into overdrive.

Thanks. Do you know what is the part number for the sensor and where it is located ( input turbine sensor ). If you have a diagram would be beneficial.

I am getting error codes P0715 and P0722. What is the name of the sensor on the trans that your are suggesting to replace for error code P0715???
