i'm new to this forum, I bought a 2005 Chevroelt Cavalier and I'm wondering if anyone has gotten really bad gas mileage from the new CAV's... and if there is anything I can do to get better gas mileage.. Hope all is well!!!

get rid of that stock air box... and get an intake....Don't lay on the gas pedal so much...

What are you getting? My '03 Eco 5 speed never gets less than 30.

I would take it back to the dealer and have them check it out. My new 04 coupe is very good on mileage. I have had new cars need a new fuel pum two months after I bought it. Anything can go worng even with new cars.
I doubt this problem is anything anyone here can help you with.

Remember, fuel economy will be lower until the engine breaks in and the cylinders rings seat for maximum compression.

I bought mine brand new, and if the gas mileage was any lower before it was broken in, it was not noticeable. Other cars could be different, I guess.

That is because it is not broke in yet.

I have over 16,000 miles on mine, if the mileage ever gets any better than the 30+ mpg I get all the time, that would be awesome. LOL

I have a 2004 cav and i turbocharged mine.
The thing still gets good gas mileage
with a fuel pump injectors and a regulator
i avg 26-28 mpg if i dont' get on it. I
would definitly ask the dealer to check it out.
