First races in a month

Well as I mentioned somewhere before, I haven't managed to find a race in almost a month...VERY VERY uncharacteristic of me. Anyway, so last night my battery dies and I get it jumped, now the weather is down in the 40s, and I have to run the car for a half hour anyway to recharge the battery, so I'm feeling like a perfect night for racing. So I set off to find my first victim...well it took me a whole 100 yards. As I get to Main St, I see a bright yellow old school mustang 5.0 foxbody style cruising by. So I wait for a few cars to go by and hang a left after him. We drive for a bit with a few cars in between us, just cruising going 30mph. The road opens into 2 lanes, so I swing out into the left lane to catch up, yet I notice he is taking the right turn in 50ft, so I speed up and merge in right behind him, just in time to take the turn. Well now the road opens up to 2 lanes, but I'm staying right behind him...not sure where he is going. So at this point I get a chance to look at his car, he's got a long flat spoiler, not tall, but it hangs 4 or 5 inches off the back of the car, I see dual exhaust, and he has a saleen decal along the door sill. So I'm just cruising right behind him going 40mph, making sure he knows I'm there. Well we go for a 1/4 mile like this and I'm getting impatient. So I switch lanes into the right, but just as I do, the car infront of the mustang switches to the right as well, so I switch back in behind the stang, and just as I do he floors it. Now at this point I've been cruising in 2nd with pretty high rpms awaiting just this scenario, so my boost is on full(vr4 by the way). The second he gets under load I see and smell burnt oil just shoot out of his exhaust, and laugh to myself as we both take off. Now my reaction was so quick that when boost hit, I was right back on his bumper, so I switch to the right lane, and shift into 3rd, now I'm at his door in a second, but I see cars up ahead in my lane, so I let off and drop right back in behind him and gun it again. I'm right on his bumper, as we pass all the cars in the right lane. So now we are going about 95mph(the road bends a bit) and I see his hand go out the window and give the thumbs up.....wait I thought we were just getting started...you're quitting now? But I return the gesture and pull up even on him, both cruising at 100. So I look over to get the sideview of his car and I see a 30year old guy smoking a blunt giving me the nod. I just smile, nod back, shift to 4th and speed off.

So I'm still smiling to myself at the next light when I see something bright red up in the distance. So I jump the green and take off after him. A little while up, I line up with a bright red ford probe with full bodykit, side skirts, exhaust, and black vinyl flames on the doors. I just smile over to the passenger in the car, who gets the drivers attention. The passenger is gazing over my car, and I smile to myself and point to the 'twin turbo' decal over my left shoulder..(yeah, I'm a prick) I see his smile turn upside-down as he says something to the driver. Well I tack it up to 3k, and slip the clutch as the light goes green and then I just floor it, not even waiting for them to launch. I put a bus length on them easily in first and stopped looking back at that point, took it up to 75, then shifted to neutral and rolled down the long hill and took my exit...battery fully charged.

It's a repeat problem, I've narrowed it down to what I believe to be a combo of cold weather and my amp. With all my electronics, something is draining power when the car is off, and I think it is the amp or equalizer or something. I think they wired it wrong, because if the weather gets cold, and my car sits for more than 2 days without being run, it dies. Same thing happened all last winter, then all spring, summer, and fall it worked fine, no problems. So who knows.
