Hey,
I am going to be working on the brakes in my 90 Jeep Cherokee Laredo this weekend and was wondering if there are any online service manuals?

Rear?
Remember, the longer shoe of the two goes to the rear of the vehicle. Front?
Brakes pads are mostly the same. Except for the wear indicator. Open the bleed valve to push out the old fluid, versus sending it back into the system.
Most public libraries have books you could copy the page or two you need. I suggest, if the rear brakes, you look and try and draw what you see from examining your own brakes. Then, go to the library and find the drawing of the brake system that resembles yours. When you take it apart, lay the pieces on the floor in an order that resembles the way they were put together. Lay the forward shoe forward, the in-board pad in-board. Spring parts in order. Do one side at a time.
Get a separate tray for all the little parts that come off. New spring kits are really cheap. Purchased them. Remember, you are saving the money doing the labor, and probably better than 50% on the parts. Don't get too cheap in doing the brake job. A second can of brake cleaner or a bigger can of brake fluid is cheaper than going to the store a second time. On cheating on it.

affirmative, alldatadiy.com They have full specs in there for everything. It costs $20/yr, but I find it invaluable.

Digital pics of what you've got in there, after you take off the drum but BEFORE taking it apart helps out, if you don't have anything else.

Seems like the links to the FSMs from 4wheeldrive are dead ends.

:grinyes: Now that link works fine with the _ in it instead. Thanks, apparently they don't have the 89' FSM & the dealer says these are not available. Any further hints or help would be greatly appreciated. Bill hughes site is a wealth of information though too, thanks again. Good reliable info is hard to find anymore. Jim :smokin:
