Diagnostics Connector

I've been trying to reset my timing, but I can't find the diagnostics connector that the sticker on the underside of the hood tells me to short in order to disable timing advance. Is it in the engine bay? Under the dash? I'm at a loss..

Thanks

It should be under the hood near the drivers side strut tower.

I found a 4 pin connector over there with what appears to be a dummy plug connected to it. The underside of the hood tells me i'll have a 6 pin connector, though. Strange.

my 92 geo doesn't even have a sticker. Dealer service manual says timing should be 5 deg on my 92 and the diagnostic connector is on the driver side, near the firewall, right behind the strut tower top. It has a rubber plug covering it.
