Radiator Fan

Have a 90 Accord EX Coupe
My temp stays at center pf gauge...however I have noticed I hear the fan come on shortly after the engine has stopped. Is that normal or is the fan also suppose to come on durning engine running. I do notice the engine is extrememly hot....FYI I recently replaced the radiator about 2 months ago after it cracked on the top inlet area....

As far as i know this is normal...mine does this also. My temp also rides just below the mid range and has ever since i've owned the car and i have not had any temp problems, btw i have a 5thgen not a 4thgen...the fan should also turn on and off as needed when the car is running.
