drivers power lock

drivers power lock would not lock for about a year but rest of doors would so locked doors. also the button went down so it looked locked. had to open the drivers side door by rolling window down and opening from outside. last night all doors locked including drivers side. doors open except drivers side. how can i get the drivers side open?

It sounds like you have a broken linkage retainer. Had the same problem with the door not opening from the inside on a 94 Escort. There was a plastic retainer clip that had broken allowing the linkage to the interior handle to slip out of the handle. You have to take the panel off the door and look around inside with a flashlight. I got a new part at a junkyard. You need about three hands and hold your tounge just right. :smile: Good Luck.
