JC Whitney catalog has clear taillights, but double check that you can have then on your car. HEre they are illegal and the cops here will stop you!

You can't change the color of plastic from red to clear(if that's what you mean) but almost everyone sells clear tail lights for your car, as henrymv said check local laws on clear tails they are illegal where i live also...however a lot of them come with a small red reflector on them now making them legal as long as you run the proper color bulbs in them (e.g. red)

Anyone who tries to give you firm information is actually treading on very thin ice (unless he or she is an attorney, lincesed to practice in New York State).

Giving legal advice when you are NOT licensed is known as the unauthorized practice of law ("UPL") and can land you in jail!

The statutes that govern things like automobile specs are filled with legalese and are not easy to read. Your local library will have them I expect, as will a law library at your local courthouse. But don't expect to find those answers easily.

Your best bet might be the DMV in New York. A FRIENDLY phone call might get you the info you need.

Meanwhile, you can assume that if your car looks too funky (especially at night), at your age, you very likely WILL get pulled over! After all, the cops in North Tonawanda probably don't get much action, do they? Is it really worth the hassle?

:screwy: give the kid a break it's not like their going to throw him in jail for having clear taillights, if they do anything it will be an equipment violation most likely with a minimal (if any) fine. Let the cops pull us over, where i live they have a task force specifically designed to hunt us even when we're not doing anything (and nothing on my car is illegal btw) lets not fall into that "look at those import kids they must be up to no good" view, that's just pathetic. I agree that he needs to check local laws (as i already said) but not having a "funky" car just because of a bunch of bored cops is lame. BTW YES it is worth the hassle if your within the law.

I agree with 99accordVTEC....
A teenager with anything funky or loud will get you pulled over it is a game all teenagers have been playing with cops since the 50's. The worst that can come out of it will be a fix it ticket...and a fine. When I was a teenager I had all kinds of funky stuff on my MOnte Carlo and it was so loud you could here me coming down 4 blocks away and the cops pulled me over all the time. All you need to do is call a local Highway Patrol Dept or in Texas they call it the Highway Saftey Dept.

And on giving legal advice, we all not attorney we are just sharing friendly information with people we have something in common with - Honda Accords! Smile, it is a joy to drive fast ans furious and not get caught!

Check the local junkyards (for the P.C. people - Auto Recyclers)

You can usually find them on cars that were wrecked in races...Goodluck...
