hey whats up? new 2 da forum and 2 rotary. i bought a 88 rx7 t2 with 134k mileage at an auction. it was running when i bought it. when it was delivered i couldnt start it, however, i did get it 2 start once but i kept on pressing the gas to get it running. it ran for about 10 secs and died on its own. i didnt know your not suppose to press the gas at first. read a couple of articles and figured it was flooded. did the unflooding found on this website: http://www.rx7.com/tech/unflood-fc.html. both didnt work. i actually bought new batteries and it almost died from doing the complex unflooding procedure from that site too much. oh yeah another thing that i noticed is everytime i redo the complex unflooding from that site, when i pull the plugs its always wet, is that suppose to be? check for spark. plugwires are good. bought new plugs. still wont work. changed oil and oil filter. found something im not used to. the used oil, when let to sit for a couple of mins, would separate into two parts. one part the liquid oil, when i shake the container, the second part looks like a cloud of dust. i dunno if this means anything but it reminds me of the atf treatment found in this site: http://www.mazspeed.com/atf.htm. whats the purpose of atf treatment? the only reason i havent done it is i learned it could also mess the engine up if done incorrectly. right now im completely stomped. im just saving up for either a s5 swap or an engine rebuild. i joined another forum and they werent very helpful. hope u guys are different. but all i wanna know is what else should i check b4 goin for a swap, because if i could get this engine running, i would be very happy. i understand the engine is old and it might be time for a rebuild but if there are other things i should check b4 goin for a rebuild it would be very helpful. hope tis aint too long for yall's to read.

i think it might be the coolant seal. either way, sounds like you'll need a rebuild, and if you don't, might as well anyways with that many miles on a t2.
