My second race!!!

I dont know how many people read my first race but I'm fifteen and I just recently got my civic. My first race was against a pick up truck. This time I raced an automatic accord. Im not sure what year or generation it was but it was a pretty old car maybe from the late 80's or really early 90's. Anyways, my mom had put out a yard sale at her friends house on saturday so I went over because I was kind of bored at my house. I got there and I saw that they were selling pretty good. I went back to the house to pick up some speakers and other stuff that I wanted to sell and on my way back, some guy in his ricy as$ accord revved his engine at me at a red light, he was laughing because before that, he saw that my car had turned off when I was taking off at a stop.( It still happens to me sometimes with the manual transmission.) I got mad and revved back. He kept on laughing i guess because he saw me as a little, no good kid. When the light turned green we took off. He beat me at the take off but I think that he let go of the gas or something because I catched up at the end of first gear. After that he just kept on pulling away every time I shifted.:banghead: I got to about fourth gear before I had to stop and take a turn.:mad: I need to practice my shifting. I wish I could have beaten him. He would have been so mad if a kid had beaten him especially when he started everything.

I dont have a liscence. I just drive my car when I need to. And sometimes just for fun but I try not to drive it alot.

Im just too lazy to go to DMV and get my licence plus i heard it takes like 3 hours to get your number called. the good thing is that i dont get pulled over even if i drive fast (every day) and i also dont have insurance. this is why i love Arizona cuz cops dont care...

We both have intake and exhaust, but I have a vtec controller which gives me a slit edge over him. But you'll eventually start to mod out your car. Who knows, someday you may meet up with him and kick the Shiz out of his car. But for now, just deal with the losses.

I have intake and exhaust, no v-tec. He probably had an intake and im sure he had an exhaust. His car was an automatic and it was probably stronger. I dont think I could beat him unless I get some headers and a chip. The shifting is still going to kill me though.

you'll catch on to the shifting...when i first got my car i was kinda rough with the shifts...and that was about 5 months ago...i started noticing about 2 months after i got it that i was shifting a lot smoother...and now, almost all of my shifts are very smooth...unless i want to be fast...even then they are relatively smooth...

good race just be careful.. you dont want to be caught street racing at 15 with no liscines..

I respect that you like to drive and race, but you AT LEAST can wait till you have your shifting down before driving. I totally see where Redneck is coming from. I was paying $93 a month for insurance, now it is $106 because there have been quite a few 'tegs around the SW Wash. area getting into wrecks and shit, and my insurance company just "had to look into my best interests."

Don't get angry if someone is laughing at you, they are just making themselves feel better about their shitwagon. Just keep it cool, because when racing gets heated and people start fighting, that's when people get killed. Keep on practicing the shifting, and get your permit and license as soon as possible. Stay safe man, wouldn't want to hear anything bad happen to ya, that's all.

I would agree. That's why I never even made an effort to try and get a Z28 or SS Camaro when I turned 16. The insurance would have been over $2000 a year compared to around $600-700 for my truck (of course I'm 21 now, at 16 the insurance for the truck was like $1200)

My mom is a single mother and she doesnt know I race my car. My mom is very responsible. Sometimes she wont even let me drive my car. I didnt really want to race after my first experience but that guy just got me pissed. I'm gonna try to stop doing it till I get my liscence, and even when I have my liscence I'm gonna try not to do it alot. I should take all of the advises that I have gotten here, and I will try to follow them. Thanks everyone. I want to go to a track but I cant even do it there.

Dude, you shouldn't even be driving. Period. You don't have a license. I doubt you even have a permit. And, to top it off, you have no insurance. Therefore, if you get pulled over, you'll be hit with AT LEAST two violations. It's just a really dumb thing to do.

Oh, and they'd probably slap your mom with a hefty fine for letting her unlicensed, uninsured child go driving around.

ya...u dont wanna be like my friend who snuck out with his moms suv..ran a stop sign, got caught and now he cant get his license till hes 18 he was a 15 y/o without a permit

I'm not sure how it is everywhere else but a buddy of mine got caught driving on a revoked liscinse and he got hauled away to jail on then was released and is still waiting for his court date to see if he can even get his liscinse back how ever he's 20 and had a load of other violations against him, another friend had the same problem (driving on revoked liscinse) but the cop that pulled him over was nice enough to let him drive home and wait for his court date without another ticket.
Oh and btw around here if you get caught street racing you lose your liscinse your car gets towed and depending on the cop you might even get a free trip to the county lock up, insurence rates increase if you can even still get a provider to cover you and you lose your liscinse untill your 21 or even lose them indefinatly.

I feel ya, but hey its not worth the risk. Soon you will have a permit and then you can drive your mom around or if you got friends over 21 drive with them. That’s where im at. Had the permit for like 7 months I think and hopefully parents will let me get the license soon. Consider your self lucky though cause you got a car that’s YOURS! So you can go out and tinker with it and do mods to it. And its not a bad car at that. I used to knock civics till I drove my friend's HB. Things are LIGHT as hell makes you want to fling them around corners. Just keep it safe and hang out around here. You will learn SOO much I guarantee it.

where do you live in az?? cuz in scottsdale and that area there are tons of cops...but in tempe where i'm at, there are none...i absolutely love it also...i just dont think speeding drivers is a high priority for them, which is great.

oh ya...it's not a good idea to be street racing at 15 w/ no license!! i have a neighbor who had is license suspended for street racing, it would just suck if you got pulled over...just wait, or just peel out or do burnouts, but dont race until you have a license.

That should scratch my itch.:p But there is nothing like the adrenaline rush you get when you step on the gas full throtle. I dont remember anything about my first two races. I only remember the noises and when I was shifting. On the second race I also remember watching the accord pull away.

yes...alot of cops are just plain assholes...but there are those few that are tite and let most people off...im lucky cuz i haven't gotten a ticket yet, knock on wood, and i hope i dont get one for a loooong time...though yes, for the most part cops in az probably just cruise around their specific routes and get paid, lol...silly birds.

my first car was a 1991 integra LS....didn't know i was driving import tuning gold when i was 16....and i stupidly sold it to get a newer car....but you live and you learn...haha

yes i had my first race in that car actually i had many not all wins mostly losses but i was young and it was a 5 speed.i still have it but i need a new engine i will fix it up and take it back on the streets and i will challenge a friend in his 91 integra the only cars i beat were 90 civic 89 Crx 92 eclipse 98 Tracker 4X4 84 accord on old maxima and i had a close one with a friends 91 integra but he beat me now i drive an 87 RX7 and im 18 years old did u check your mail? i sent you a link to my car
