AC Problems

Every time I turn on the AC or Defrost, my cotrol panel lights go dem and go back, and when I turn my defrost on It makes a loud sound. Can anyone help me with this, thanks.

what kind of sound? most likely the problem is related to your alternator but its hard tell exactly what without knowing what sound its making
