My wifes 97 gt 3.1 has a random miss on #4 and I need to give it a tune-up(change plugs, wires, caap/rotor etc.). Now, having never had to work on this thing what is the "easiest" way to get to these back plugs if there is an easy way.

due to the motor mount setup, there is no easy way. basically, you do them from up top with a long extension by braille.

Well I replaced the plugs and wires. Glad it's a job I won't be doing any time soon. Too much sh^# in the way, but I succeeded. Still have the same random miss code on #4. Am going to try injector cleaner. Anybody have any luck with it and if so what brand did you use? Am going try this for a couple of tank fulls of gas before I venture on to taking the plenum off and looking at the injector.

Currently running cleaner(solvent-toluene) with a full tank of gas. Was the fix instanteous or did it take a tank of gas for the injector to clean itself out?(Unable to get NOS to use on this tank)

another real good fuel system cleaner is Slick-50 injector cleaner. I no longer use slick 50 oil treatment since Quaker State bought them out and they lost their certification, but the injector cleaner is an excellent product. it may take a full tank full before you will see improvement.

Okay, still have the random miss on #4---just had it rescanned today. Running injector cleaner right now. Are there any other "tune-up" parts I could replace besides the plugs and wires that I did? Want to try all other options before deciding I need to look at the injector.

Well I have to pull the injector out. Rash of premature injector failures happening in my area(article in the Mil. Journal). Only 90,000 miles on the car. Anybody have any good tips/guidlines for removing the plenum and doing this job?
