Why don't you call up an insurance company and find out?

The rate will vary depending on but not limited to:

* your age
* your sex
* your driving history
* the vehicle your insuring (model/aibags/anti-lock brakes/theft deterance/etc)
* whether you want collision and comprehensive
* how much liability coverage you need (as determined by your state) or want
* your state of residence (fault or no-fault)

That's a good question!.....tried to find out but no luck so far.

Probably something mundane like a GM, in-house design, project number.

it sounds cheezy but the "s" stands for super as in "super 10" series

I think S as in small would fit better.:)

Just a gues but the 10 probably has something to do with the max payload of 1000lbs... although that wouldn't explain the 15 in s15

Back in the '70s, there was an influx of Toyota and Datsun small pickups.
Chevy used to number their trucks 1000 for the 1/2 ton, 2000 for the 3/4 ton, 3000 for the 1 ton.
GMC trucks were 1500, 2500, 3500 respectively.

Therefore the "s" was for smaller or small or short, depeding on who you talk to. Chevy went with the 10 as in their 1000 for the full size. GMC went with 15 as in 1500 in their full size.

That's the story as I remember, but that was a long time ago. I remember when the numbers were 100, 200 etc. Geez, it's a bitch gettin' old.

hmm thats sometiing I though it stand for some name of a car designer i remember seeing a a badage that said scottsdale 15 on it ....I dont know
