i have a 99 prelude, automatic transmission.
last friday the starter gave out and i put a new one in over the weekend. it starts great with no problems but everytime it starts i hear a load whining noise from the starter motor. i know the starter motor is basically an electric motor that spins really fast (which is probably what's making the load noise), but the old one never made this much noise.
is this normal? should i take the starter back?

Yes, take it back and see what they have to say about it.

i called them up and they said to give it a couple of weeks and let the moving parts break in. does this make sense? has anyone ever had a similar experience?
